2024 – 11 Plus examination for Grammar Schools
Registration deadlines and basic information
Almost every area and every school have different testing procedures, the format of the tests varies, and the admission rules for allocating school places are specific to the area or school.
Please ensure that you check with the admission authority (Local Authority) and on the schools’ own websites for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Some steps to follow:
- Go through the grammar schools’ information.
- Shortlist few which you wish to aim for. This decision will also depend on catchment
area rules. So please check that.
- Try to find as much information as possible about these shortlisted schools
- If available, attend open days and gather more information with all doubts answered
- Fill up the registration forms for the shortlisted schools before the deadlines.
- Make a final firm list of the schools for your choice for secondary admission. Keep
some local state schools also in the list as a backup.
- Check your council website about the CAF application. This is the form you must fill
up with your council (normally 31st October) to give 6 choices of the schools in the
order of your preference
- Keep checking your communication with the school about test day information
You can find information about the registration deadlines for each school county wise in
following pages.
Best wishes!
