About Slough-Style Exam:
The Slough-style grammar exam is the 11+ entrance test produced and marked by GL Assessment and used by the four grammar schools in Slough, Berkshire, to select pupils for Year 7 entry (age 11).
These schools are:
- Langley Grammar School
- Herschel Grammar School
- St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School
- Upton Court Grammar School
They all share the same test, called the Slough Consortium 11+ Exam.
It’s coordinated so that candidates sit one test that counts for all four schools.

The test has two multiple-choice papers, taken on the same day with a short break between them.

Exam Format:
The Slough-style exam focuses on:
- Core literacy and numeracy

- Speed and accuracy
Each paper lasts about 45–50 minutes, with timed sections inside.
Questions are multiple-choice and answered on a separate answer sheet.
